As the saying goes, “Without virtue one would not been born as human being”
and “Without debt/sin one would also not been born as human being”. Virtue will
bring fortune; and if there were sin one would have to suffer the consequences.
Ordinary man would often say that, “We are born to enjoy life.” Correct, to
enjoy your life… but while you are enjoying it you are actually suffering too at
the same time. For example, after a long vacation, isn’t the journey both joyful
as well as painful at the same time? When green mountains and blue seas
surrounds you, having the beautiful scenery spread out before your eyes, it is
certainly marvelous and joyful. However, after seeing all that, you would feel
exhausted and tired from head to toe, money would be all spent off…the enjoyment
had then turned into pain, isn’t it? However, there are people that have come on
earth with heavenly mission, and Danny’s life story was a typical example of it.
He has now completed his vow, so then has returned to heaven. Danny has got even
greater mission waiting for him to finish! Didn’t Living Buddha Chi-Kung say
that Danny is now teaching little angels English in heaven? Each one of us, having this special opportunity to come on earth, we are not
here for no reason; we are all here with a heavenly mission. All of us have our
own unique cause and mission to complete. We must make this world to be even
more peaceful, perfect and beautiful. So that any lost soul would be able to
find their way back to hometown heaven. No one should be left out. We are here
to assist in realizing the goal of Pantisocracy (Global peace & equality).
Without doubt, we are here to complete this great mission, to fulfill each of
our duty here on earth. No matter we are here to fulfill the heavenly obligation, or to complete our
karma relationship, or to complete heavenly mission. There are rules that one
could follow: 1.Receiving Tao: Receiving what Tao? It is to receive a “Broad Way”, a way
that would make your life wider and wider. Therefore, it is important for us to
first find out what is making our life narrower and narrower, then to cut off
these factors out completely. To receive Tao, is also to find the way “back to
hometown heaven”. The place that you have come originally; you would have to
return there one day. Heaven has given birth to us all, so it is only natural
for us to “return to heaven” one day when we pass away. This is the so-called
Returning. As the saying goes, “It’s so good to be home!” indeed it is great to
be home. It would be a tragic if someone cannot come home. How to find the way
back home? First, you would have to understand the principal, as principal would
apply to all. On the other hand, you would have to build up your virtue. As only
virtue can run against time, it is the only thing that would never disappear
within the time span. To receive Tao, is to realize your true heart. As to
understand where your heart is, then you would be able to work from your heart.
Our national father said once, “Human is the weapon to its heat”, in other words
human is only a tool controlled by the heart. Thus, we should realize the
magnificent part of heart in our life. 2.Learning Tao: After receiving Tao, the second step is to learn about Tao,
to deeply understand the preciousness and holiness of Tao. The Tao will not only
win the moment, it will even make the way of our life wider and wider. You would
feel more at ease along the way, to be confident and sure about your life, that
you might even feel you could conquer the world. Centuries later, your name
would still stay in people’s heart; your descendents would still cherish the
great things that you have done. We should take time to study and research in
areas such as: predecessor’s (senior Tao member) experience in propagating Tao,
their abundant knowledge of Tao, their enthusiasm in researching Tao, the
example of true Tao achiever, the reason why Tao was granted from heaven to
earth, the pulse of Tao being passing down and continue, the great scarifies and
effort that holy master and teachers had been through in propagating Tao, the
difficulties that predecessors have been through in propagating Tao, the perfect
implementation of Tao in human world, the difference of Tao and other religions
…etc. The more that we study about it, the more we would be able to identify the
holiness of Tao. The more that we understanding about it, the more confidence
would then be stirred up for Tao. 3. Cultivating Tao: Only if you can realize the holiness and greatness of
Tao, you would then have the faith to devote in Tao. To realize is still not
enough, you would have to put it in action. We all know, “Knowing the principle
is not what matter the most, but rather if you can do it or not”. Only if you
can put it into action, you can call it yours. If you can’t do it at all, it
would then belong to others. If you only stress your understanding but have no
action, you would still be assumed as not understanding it at all. Knowing
without action would still mean not knowing. “Consistent-- is the key to
success”, if you have never succeeded before, it means you have never been
consistent. There is one consistent thing that we all do, that is eating and
sleeping, otherwise how could we be alive? Thus, practice is then the most
difficult task. How to cultivate? As mentioned earlier on, an cultivator is
someone that knows to rectify, getting rid off all bad habits, the so called
“doing no wrongs”. Take out all things that will block our harmony in human
relationship development with others, and cut if off completely. This includes:
bad tempers, habits, selfishness, prejudice…etc. Think about it, a person with
bad temper, countless bad habits, endless selfishness, deep-rooted prejudice,
could his way of life be a smooth one? To cultivate Tao and to propagate Tao is
to find your “Buddha nature” within, so that your pure spirit can appear all the
time. People would then learn from you, let everyone know that we all in fact
has a pure Buddha nature within us, your action would demonstrate the true
meaning of Tao. Cultivating and propagating Tao is not only to learn how to walk
our life journey in the right way, at the same time, we need to learn how to
walk this home returning way back to heaven. The former strive to find a “Broad
Way”; as the latter strive for smoothness – an easy path. 4. Propagating Tao: The society is made up of each one of us. Therefore, if
you were the only one that is fortunate, that’s not true fortune; if everyone
were fortunate, then that would be the real fortune. Think about it, if you
don’t commit killing but others attempt to kill you; Or if you would never
involving in robbing but others try to rob you, the society would still have no
peace. Therefore, we are even more responsible to spread the great Tao, to
widespread the great virtue (kindness of God), so that everyone would know “All
human are born with a good (righteous) heart”, “each one of us has Buddha’s
spirit within, we all can become a Buddha one day”, “Who is Emperor Shun, who am
I, for the one who is capable would be the same as Emperor Shun”, “God is with
us at all time”. Every one of us should reveal our true nature, the true
goodness, and the true beauty of our original character to others completely,
then the heaven would be here on earth. This mundane world is a lotus world
(heaven on earth). The “Tao” is the justice of nature, the so-called conscience.
We should all live our days based on the course of nature and one’s conscience.
The reason why our society is not peaceful and the world doesn’t function
according to rules, it is because not all people believe in “conscience”. Some
people even remark that, there are only two people that have conscience: The one
is already passed away and the other one is not yet born. Aren’t we all in bad
luck to be regarded as the group without conscience, as we were born recently
but have not yet passed away? So, if we were not to have any conscience, others
can’t ask us to do any good deeds, otherwise that would be an extravagant
request or just simply excessive demand. If we all truly think that way, the
world would definitely end in chaos. Alternatively, if we all define ourselves
having “conscience” within, and the Tao is in us, we would then never commit any
evil (sinful) affairs. The world would then transform and the vision of
Pantisocracy (Global peace & equality) can be expected soon! 5. Achieving Tao: Throughout life, if one is able to put doing good deeds and
building virtue as their life missions, as well as establishing good karma with
everyone that they come across, they would have fulfilled their life to the
fullest. It is important that we seize our opportunity to contribute in finance,
worlds of God or voluntary works. While taking up these opportunities to
contribute, we would be cultivating ourselves within, and others outwardly too.
Internally, you would possess the virtue of saints and externally you would
execute the example of a king. Showing selflessness and content. By reaching
that stage, you would have achieved Tao in heaven, and leaving a good name in
human world. Your fame would come without asking, rewards would simple take
place, everyone would be pleased, and life would be truly worthy. Danny’s life
is a good example of this ideal life. His mother, sister Change has a deep
understanding of it too. This has to be the main reason for her having such firm
believe in Tao, and didn’t let her son’s death beaten down her faith. She has
given her heart to God without any double!

Manifesting the greatness of Tao
By Principal Cheng Wu-Chunn
After readying sister Chang’s (Danny’s mom) two great writings “The
unforgettable smile” and “Endless thoughts and remembrance”, thoughts surged in
me for a very long time. If an ordinary person or a junior Tao member was forced
to face such tremendous life crisis of losing a son, such shocking news would
make them fall apart or hatred would have been stirred up endlessly. Moreover,
they would have lost their direction in life very easily. But after great battle
of fighting against believes in I-Kuan-Tao (name of our religion) when losing
her son, sister Chang was able to re-found her faith in Tao again. Her total
confidence about the preciousness of Tao, the wholeheartedness that she has
demonstrated, I am certain that sister Chang has got to be someone very special
from heaven, so as to have such deep understanding of Tao. Once again, we see
the witness of Tao is true, the principle is true, and the heavenly decree is
true.
Note: Principal Cheng Wu-Chunn, the transmit teacher of I-Kuan Tao Fa-I group,
is also well known as an educator and speaker in our country. Every year he is
been invited to attend hundreds of seminars. His humorous, tactful and
inspirational speeches are loved locally and internationally. Before his
retirement, he was the principal of national specialized school for many years.
His publications include, “Love, Love, Love”…and many more books. True
philosophy is found in his writings, they are deep inspiration for all. We are
truly grateful to Principal Cheng, for giving his precious time in providing a
piece of writing about Danny’s story. It has not only unveiled the true meaning
of Danny’s witness of Tao, this writing is also meant to encourage Danny’s
family and relatives, and also hope to inspire all its readers deep down in
their heart.
